Restaurants in Havelock, NC

Highway 70 runs through the heart of Havelock, NC, and lining the street on both sides are numerous dining options spanning from fast food favorites and family restaurants to diners and ice cream shops. Mostly casual in atmosphere, Havelock's restaurant and dining choices are dominated by the familiar world tour of Mexican, Italian and Chinese dishes. Of course, being so close to the ocean also means some restaurants serve fresh fish, shrimp, and crabs, while others master comfort foods like burgers and hot dogs.

Affordable and familiar, Havelock restaurants don't creep too far into the exotic. If you want a Chinese buffet at an affordable price, you'll find it here. The same goes for margarita night with burritos, tortilla chips and salsa at your favorite Mexican restaurant, or a taste of Italian with pepperoni pizza and spaghetti. By far, one of the most unique restaurants you'll find in town is Crabby Patty's. Offering a blend of fresh seafood at an affordable price, Crabby Patty’s is certainly the spot for those wanting coastal cuisine without driving all the way to Atlantic Beach or Morehead City.

A few franchises are dotted along Havelock as well. In addition to burger spots like Hwy 55 Burgers and Shakes, formerly known as Andy's Cheesesteaks, you can enjoy an affordable breakfast from Waffle House or spend your Sunday with a sundae at Dairy Queen. And if fast food is what you're after, you're in luck. Havelock's Hwy 70 offers a buffet of fast food favorites like Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell and Subway.

You won’t find a Starbuck’s but that doesn’t mean you won’t find some carefully crafted coffee. Head over to West Main Street and check out The Kitchen Table, which also has an assortment of sandwiches if you’re looking for a light lunch.

Also remember that Havelock has a fairly empty stretch of road for about 15 miles on the East and West of the town limits. So if you’re really hungry, don’t cruise through Havelock thinking another restaurant will pop up soon.  And if it’s the middle of the summer you might be waiting even longer. The neighboring Crystal Coast and New Bern get very popular with tourists during the summer and so do their restaurants. Many of those neighboring restaurants tend to cost more as well, so keep that in mind when you’re deciding where your family is stopping for lunch. Of course, there are affordable options in all three areas (Havelock, New Bern and the Crystal Coast) but the odds are certainly better that your meal will cost less in Havelock.
