Cahoogue Creek presents a pleasant picnic spot and a good place to put in for a little trip or a day's outing. This National Forest Service boat ramp is free and allows boats to access Hancock Creek and the Neuse River. In addition to the ramp, the facility provides a grill, picnic table and small dock designed primarily to aid boarding. There are no restroom facilities. The only landmark along Highway N.C. 101 to indicate the turn is a simple road sign, so a reasonable speed and sharp watch are key to finding the ramp.
