Matthews Point, a full-service marina at the mouth of Clubfoot Creek, regularly accepts calls from transient boaters and provides a wet slip overnight if one is available. The marina, which completely renovated its docks, bathrooms and grounds in 2012, can accommodate both sail and power boats up to 45 feet. The entry channel into Matthews Point offers a minimum depth of 6.6 feet. Open year round, the marina has gas and diesel fuel, electricity, a pump-out station, laundry facilities, showers and ice. A clubhouse, cookout area and upper-deck lounge are available to boaters, and the dock master is on duty Thursday through Monday, 8:22 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. Finding the marina by land is more difficult than by water. Land seekers should follow N.C. Highway 101 toward Beaufort. Just a few miles out of Havelock, a church marks the corner of the highway and Temples Point Road. The marina is at the very end of Temples Point Road. There are seven premier RV sites available for (mainly) long term rental.
